Electric Shuffle set to finally open this month
Electric Shuffle will focus on shuffleboard, which sees players slide weighted discs down a narrow court with the purpose of having them come to rest within a marked scoring area.
The game has been given a ‘contemporary, experiential reimagining’ by Ellis Design Studio, with the shuffleboard tables integrated with ‘cutting edge’ gaming technology.
“The spirit of the design has been forged from these diverse influences producing a scheme which is vibrant, contemporary, unique and electric,” says Alan Ellis, managing director at Ellis Design Studio.
“The fusion of these ideas manifested in a design scheme we describe as the ‘beautiful factory’.
Electric Shuffle’s 9,000sq ft site, which has been mooted for more than a year, will be set over two floors and feature two bar areas.
As with Moore and Barham’s social darts chain Flight Club, it will also serve an extensive food offering with the menu set to include tapas-style small plates; sharing platters; and pizzas.
Electric Shuffle will operate under Moore and Barham’s recently launched parent company Red Engine, which also oversees five UK Flight Club venues, and one international partnership, Flight Club Chicago.
Two further Flight Club locations are set to open before the end of the year: one in Islington, and a second US partner site in Boston, Massachusetts.
Last month, Moore told BigHospitality’s sister site MCA that having an in-house creative company enabled the gameplay to be regularly updated to keep it fresh and exciting.
“The development never goes away. It starts on day one, it doesn’t finish on day one,” he said.
