Barrie brothers announce name of Liverpool restaurant
The brothers behind The Marram Grass in Anglesey have revealed their upcoming Liverpool restaurant will be called Lerpwl, the Welsh name for the city.

Ellis and Liam Barrie secured a site in the city’s Albert Dock last year, which is set to open in February 2020.

The pair launched their first restaurant, The Marram Grass, in 2011 in a caravan park owned by their parents.

It was awarded two AA Rosettes in 2018 and is recommended in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2020, though it does not hold a star or Bib Gourmand.

Last year the brothers crowdfunded over £40,000 towards the opening of a cookery school at the site, which launched in September.

Ellis competed in Great British Menu in 2018 and will join the cast of the rebooted Ready Steady Cook when it returns to the BBC next year.
