London’s Borough Market has launched a click and collect service allowing customers to order produce from its famous traders.

The market has partnered with logistics firm Good Sixty for the online service, which launched on Monday (28 October).

Customers can order produce from the likes of Neil’s Yard Dairy, Ginger Pig and Bread Ahead, which will be gathered by Good Sixty and placed in a designated hub in the market for collection between 12pm-9pm.

There is also an option to book a slot when items will be delivered on a zero-emission electric bike.

Delivery is currently only available within a 1.5 mile radius of the market, but there are plans to expand this across London in 2020.

"We have listened to what our customers want and are excited to be able to spread our wings in this way, focusing first on local customers in London, but with a view of increasing our reach later down the line," says Darren Henaghan, managing director at Borough Market.

The launch comes amid a period of change for the iconic site, which will open communal eating space The Borough Market Kitchen on 18 November.

It will house 25 street food stalls, including a Singaporean counter restaurant from chef Elizabeth Haigh, in a former car park to the side of The Rake pub.

Good Sixty was founded in Bristol in 2016 and currently operates a similar service for local retailers in Bristol and Bath.
