Gordon Ramsay alumni to open Beaconsfield pub and restaurant
The Greyhound will be first solo venture for the pair, who are both former Gordon Ramsay front-of-house staff: Margriet having been assistant restaurant manager of Pétrus in Knightsbridge, and Daniel head waiter at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea.
Based in a Grade II-listed coaching inn that dates back to the 17th century, The Greyhound’s interiors will see many of the building’s original features restored and incorporated into a contemporary design created by consultant Ian Brice.
The menu will feature ‘a modern take’ on classical British dishes served alongside a selection of beers and ales sourced from local breweries.
“It’s a dream come true and an incredibly proud moment for us both,” says Daniel.
“Having started my career as a kitchen porter, I sometimes have to pinch myself when I realise what we are doing now.
“It goes to show how our industry can open so many doors for so many people.”
Alongside their respective roles with Gordon Ramsay, the pair have also worked at other notable restaurants including Adam Byatt’s Trinity in Clapham, and Steven Ellis’ The Oxford Blue in Old Windsor.
“We are so pleased to be launching The Greyhound,” adds Margriet.
“We’re hoping the pub and restaurant will give people a place they can come to enjoy themselves and be comfortable, whether it’s for a delicious meal or for a quick drink.”
