Ian Howard has been appointed executive chef at the Galvin at The Athenaeum hotel restaurant in London.

He has joined the team after working as head chef at Roast in Borough market, and previously oversaw the kitchen at Babylon restaurant and The Roof Gardens in High Street Kensington.

Galvin at The Athenaeum opened on the ground floor of the five-star Athenaeum hotel in Mayfair in 2016.

The contemporary British restaurant is run by brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin’s Galvin Restaurants business, which also oversees the wider food and beverage operations of the hotel.

The restaurant is recommended in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2020, but does not hold a star or Bib Gourmand.
