Mark Jarvis to open restaurant as part of pub relaunch
Rousset and Jarvis, who previously worked together at Texture in London, plan to open the 40-cover restaurant in November.
It will serve a ‘Best of British’ created by Jarvis menu alongside a wine list chosen by Rousset.
The 18th century pub, which closed for refurbishment back in 2017, will also be opening six bedrooms on its upper floors alongside the restaurant.
Earlier this year Jarvis closed his London restaurant Stem just over a year after it opened, in order to “revaluate” his plans for the site.
He previously ran Neo Bistro in Mayfair, which closed this year after he stepped away from the project.
His inaugural restaurant Anglo in Farringdon, which was named Best Newcomer 2016 in the Observer Food Monthly Awards, continues to operate.
The chef started his career at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and has also cooked at The Bingham Hotel in Surrey.
Rousset co-founded of Texture and the 28°-50° Restaurant Group with chef Agnar Sverrisson, with whom he parted company in 2015. He now also runs two wine bar/restaurants in the capital - Blandford Comptoir in Marylebone and Cabotte in the City – as well as pizzeria and bar Greenwich Kitchen.
