We round-up some of the top hospitality stories you might have missed this week

- Dishoom will open its third restaurant outside London early next year within Birmingham's £700m Paradise development.​ The Indian restaurant group recently announced it was on the lookout for further sites after its profits more than doubled in 2018.

- Douglas McMaster's waste-free restaurant Silo is opening in Hackney this month, and will project menus on to the walls​ using solar energy. Chefs will be able to change listed dishes in real-time from tablets in the kitchen, also charged using the sun.

- Jamie Oliver's wider business empire saw pre-tax profits almost halve to £7.8m​ ​last year following the collapse of his UK restaurant group. The chef's television and publishing arm provided £15.9m to support his ailing casual dining empire in 2018.

- Madrid's rainforest-themed restaurant Amazonico will open a London outpost in mid-November​ after signing a lease for the former Allied Irish Bank building in Mayfair. The group, which is inspired by 'tropical, Asian, Mediterranean and Brazilian cuisine' will be going head to head in the high-end area with the likes of Richard Caring's Sexy Fish, and Park Chinois.

- Steve Groves, from Roux at Parliament Square, has been crowned National Chef of the Year​ following a two-hour cook-off at The Restaurant Show this week. William Keeble, demi chef de partie at Whatley Manor, took the junior title.
