London-based steak restaurant group Flat Iron is set to launch a spin-off feasting concept close to Liverpool Street station later this month, in collaboration with The Winemakers Club.

Flat Iron X The Winemakers Club will be a ‘convivial’ space featuring long feasting tables, with a ‘stripped-back’ food menu paired with a ‘constantly evolving’ wine selection.

Opening on the former Barullo site, the restaurant will once again see Flat Iron launch a tweaked version of its core concept.

In July the group launched another offshoot, Flat Iron Workshop, in Arcade Food Theatre.

The food menu at Flat Iron X The Winemakers Club will focus specifically on Scottish bavette steak, which will be served alongside beef-dripping chips and ‘jugs of béarnaise’.

The only dessert available will be a Cru Virunga chocolate mousse topped with dark Amarena cherries.

In contrast, the wine list will feature an extensive selection of 50+ bins available as magnum bottles, with three ‘daily special’ reds available by the glass or carafe.

“We’re very excited to team up with The Winemakers Club,” says Flat Iron founder Charlie Carroll.

“Their mission to source great wines without being swayed by trend, and to make them accessible is exactly what we try to do with our beef.

“[Flat Iron X The Winemakers Club] will be a fun opportunity for us to do something different, throw open the doors to one and all as we uncork some magnums, grill one of our favourite [beef] cuts, and get into the true spirit of simple hospitality.”
