Amazonico set for London restaurant opening next month
High profile rainforest-themed Madrid restaurant Amazonico will open its London outpost in mid-November following the signing of a brand new lease last month.

As originally flagged by Eater London, Spanish restaurateurs Santo da Silva and Marta Santos are taking over the former Allied Irish Bank building at 10 Berkeley Square, Mayfair.

Agent Restaurant Property is believed to have acted for Amazonico with Hanover Green acting for the landlord. No premium is understood to have been paid for the 9,000sq ft site but the rent is apparently set at a punchy £1m per annum.

Amazonico offers an upmarket dining ‘inspired by tropical, Asian, Mediterranean and Brazilian cuisine’. It will be going head-to-head with some of Mayfair’s most prominent and fashionable restaurants, inlcuding Richard Caring’s Sexy Fish, and Park Chinois.

As highlighted by Eater London, a planning application suggests that the restaurant will be operated Dogus International Ltd, which has links to several top-end London restaurants including Roka, Zuma and Coya.

The application details a 280-cover restaurant that trades from 7:00am — 1:00am.
