Chef Stevie Parle is to open his second Pastaio restaurant this November at London’s Westfield White City, and already has his eye to rolling out the concept further.

Situated on the shopping centre’s Southern Terrace and set over two floors, the restaurant will have space for 145 covers, feature a street-side terrace, and contain two open kitchens with one dedicated to pasta-making.

The menu will continue to promote the brand’s focus on communal dining, and feature a range of regularly-changing mains and sharing pasta dishes.

It will also offer the chain's first soft-serve ice cream, which will change seasonally and is set to launch with a stracciatella flavour.

“Westfield London feels like a great next step in my mission to bring incredibly high-quality fresh pasta with awesome British ingredients to as many people as possible,” says Parle, who opened Pastaio’s first site in Soho in 2017.

“I’ve been busy developing new dishes for this site so it will have its own identity whilst still sitting firmly in the Pastaio family.”

Parle adds that he has eye on rolling Pastaio out further in the future to a few of his favourite London neighbourhoods.

Last year the restaurant launched a long-term residency at Street Feasts’ Giant Robot in Canary Wharf, which since appears to have come to an end.

News of the opening marks another stage in the growth of London’s accessibly-priced fresh pasta restaurant market.

Last week it was confirmed that Jordan Frieda and Tim Sidadatan’s popular Padella restaurant is to open a second site early next year site on Phipp Street in London’s Shoreditch.

Meanwhile, later this autumn Italian deli and restaurant company Lina Stores will open a new site – its first to encompasses both concepts – in London’s King’s Cross.
