Opening within a 9,000sq ft multipurpose space that also contains a bar, deli, retail offering, events space and photography studio, Wild by Tart will be a neighbourhood-style restaurant serving ‘wholesome fare from a seasonally changing menu’.
The restaurant was initially due to open earlier this year, but an unexpected network gas upgrade caused it to be delayed.
Retaining the building’s 19th century arched-roof structure, the 90-cover restaurant will feature an open kitchen and long, communal tables.
Jones and Carr-Ellison have focused the menu around small sharing plates, with lunch dishes set to include pulled pheasant croquettes with harissa yoghurt; linguine with clams, ‘ndjua and cider; and smoked tomatoes served with burrata and basil oil.
The menu will also offer a selection of sourdough pizzas with toppings including spicy fennel sausage, pickled chilli, confit tomato and mozzarella; and mixed mushroom with taleggio and tarragon.
Jones and Carr-Ellison founded Tart London (not to be confused with the London-based bakery and café chain also called Tart) in 2012 and count Vogue, Louis Vuitton and Stella McCartney among their clients.
They have also been regular food columnists for the Evening Standard’s weekly ES Magazine since 2016, and also wrote a recipe book together that was published last year.
