Jamie Oliver has opened up about the demise of his restaurant group in a documentary, Jamie Oliver: The Naked Chef Bares All, which aired on Channel 4 earlier this week. In the show, Oliver also talked about his rocky relationship with Marco Pierre White, and how he nearly went bankrupt opening Fifteen.
A new edition of the Market Growth Monitor from CGA and AlixPartners has revealed that Britain’s restaurant numbers have fallen for the sixth quarter in a row, with restaurants closures now running at a net average of 18 per week.
Brazilian barbecue chain Cabana has called in the administrators, with owner Jamie Barber buying the group’s five London sites through his Hush Brassieres business. All the group’s remaining sites located outside of the capital, however, have closed.

Loch Fyne owner Greene King has agreed to be bought by Hong Kong property giants CK Asset Holdings (CKA) for £2.7bn. Following news of the deal, trade union Unite’s regional officer Mark Jaina said the deal could have “major ramifications” for the sector.
