It comes a little over a month after it was revealed the London-based group had filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators after cashflow problems coincided with the loss of its overdraft banking facility.
At the time Bird said it had up to four weeks to formulate a plan to stabilise the business and was exploring various options.
The brand has now confirmed it has sold a majority stake to the Crown Partnership as part of a pre-pack administration deal implemented last week.
As a result, the group's flagship Shoreditch restaurant closed on August 12th, when administrators BM Advisory were appointed.
It leaves Bird with three restaurants, in Islington, Camden and Westfield Stratford, and a concession in Wharf Kitchen.
"We are thrilled to have secured a better future for the brand and our amazing team,” says Paul Hemings, who co-founded Bird with his wife Cara Ceppetelli in 2014.
“We look forward to working with Crown and being supported by their depth of experience."
Hemmings added that the brand still hopes to open a long-awaited site in Brixton later this year.
