Berto, which is set to open on Holloway Road in late August, will join the likes of Padella, Pastaio and Lina Stores in offering plates of ‘simply served’ fresh pasta made onsite daily made using ‘traditional’, wholemeal and gluten-free flours.
Pastas featured on the menu will include egg tagliatelle and pappardelle, vegan pici and gnocchi, with filled pasta such as ravioli also available.
Diners will be able to choose from a range of ‘classic and inventive sauces’ to accompany their pasta, with side dishes set to include Roman-style chicory; an assortment of fritti; and an assortment of young, fresh cheeses including stracciatella.
The drinks menu will include a broad selection of Italian wines alongside beers from North London brewers Hammerton Brewery, and a cocktail list.
The 45-cover restaurant will be centred around a pasta bar, with the open counter set beneath a central skylight.
Zia Lucia opened its first pizzeria on Holloway Road back in 2016, and currently operates three sites across the capital.
