Mo Diner will be located next door to Momo on 23 Heddon Street - the location of the film shoot for Davis Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album cover. Inspired by the American diners of the 1930s, but with a Mediterranean twist and with Mazouz’s flamboyant style, it will feature an open kitchen, a bar for counter top dining, purple diner booths, yellow Moroccan tiles a candy coloured outdoor terrace, and a cacti-filled conservatory.
The diner will serve food inspired by the Med from breakfast through to dinner. Breakfast dishes will include Mo hash browns with pomegranate and brown sauce; and berber pancakes with fig marmalade and almonds as well as a variety of classic egg dishes such as Moroccan khlea with beef, eggs and green chermoula; and eggs florentine with spinach, mulukhiyah and aleppo hollandaise.
The all-day menu will focus on sharing and small plates, and will be split into fish, meat, vegetables and sandwiches, salads and soups sections. Dishes are set to include the likes of lobster ‘rock ‘n’ roll’; Loulou’s chicken wings; merguez in a blanket; grilled octopus with saffron aioli; and spiced cauliflower with pomegranate and almonds.
Mazouz has included his family favourite desserts of Om Ali bread pudding; and hibiscus, rhubarb and basil cheesecake.
The wine list, meanwhile, is described as ‘approachable’ with the drinks list also to include a selection of healthy smoothies, milkshakes and hard shakes.
Diner will get to experience the ‘Mo Lotto’, a scratch card giving them the opportunity to win prizes including half price breakfasts and a whole meal on the house every week.
