Harrods unveils Dining Hall concept
Harrods is to open a new Dining Hall tomorrow with restaurateur Eddie Lim and chef/restaurateur Vineet Bhatia among the line-up.

Formerly known as the Meat & Fish Hall, the opening of the Dining Hall marks the next stage of a two-year phased renovation of the luxury Knightsbridge department store’s historic Food Halls.

The room will feature six different bars and restaurants, with diners able to try dishes prepared by Harrods’ own chefs from produce sourced directly from the Roastery & Bake Hall and the Fresh Market Hall.

Central to it all will be a wine bar with a list of more than 100 bins available by glass, served alongside a selection of bar snacks and ‘special dishes’ created by Caviar House & Prunier.

The Hall’s Fish Bar will serve seafood directly sourced by Harrods fish buyers and fishmongers, with dishes including plates of Faroe Islands smoked salmon and Harrods’ signature fish and chips.

The Grill will feature a menu of T-bone, fillet and porterhouse steaks served alongside sides of truffle mac and cheese, triple-cooked fries and creamed green vegetables; and The Pasta Bar will serve traditional carbonara and ragù dishes made using pasta prepared in-house.

Vineet Bhatia’s 26-seat restaurant, Kama by Vineet, will serve a menu of ‘modernised regional Indian classics’ including thali; while Eddie Lim, who also runs a Mango Tree and Chai Wu restaurant in the London department store, will oversee operations at the Dining Hall’s Sushi Bar.

Harrods was founded by Charles Henry Harrod in 1834 and has occupied its current building in Knightsbridge since 1912.
