Hélène Darroze’s eponymous two Michelin starred restaurant at The Connaught hotel in London is to undergo a two-month refurbishment and modernisation.

The feted fine dining restaurant will close its doors following dinner service on 14 July, with it set to reopen in mid September.

As part of the refurbishment the restaurant, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will feature a new chef’s table as well as a dedicated armagnac room for pre and post dinner drinks and private events.

The refurbishment is being carried out by French design house Pierre Yovanovitch Architecture d’Intérieur.

The reopened restaurant will also serve a new menu that will have a greater focus on British producers and suppliers.

It is the latest move from the five-star hotel, which is part of Maybourne Hotel Group, to improve and modernise its food offer. In 2017, French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten opened his eponymous new restaurant at the hotel with a menu inspired by Southeast Asian flavours.

Hélène Darroze at The Connaught was recently ranked number 60 in the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants list, as part of the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards. The chef was also presented with the Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef Award in 2015.
