Nico Simeone to bring ever-evolving dining concept to Manchester
Scottish-born chef Nico Simeone is set to open his first restaurant south of the border next month with the launch of Six by Nico in Manchester.

It will be the chef’s fourth iteration of his Six dining concept, which serves a six-course tasting menu that changes every six weeks and is themed around different places, memories and ideas.

The first Six by Nico opened in Simeone’s home city of Glasgow in 2017, and is recommended in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland.

Using ‘food as a narrative’, the new restaurant will draw on experiences including visits to street markets in the Middle East to road trips across Route 66 to ‘take guests on a new and exciting journey each time they visit’.

The 3000 sq ft site will have 66 covers, with a minimalist design that’s contrasted with grand fixtures, atmospheric lighting and an open kitchen.

"We feel we have created the perfect recipe for an exciting epicurean adventure not just for our diners, but our team too," says Simeone, who opened his third Six By Nico restaurant in Belfast earlier this year.

“[Manchester] was the obvious choice when looking for our first site in England thanks to its thriving food and drink scene,” he adds.

“We have been overwhelmed by the success and the appeal of our first 'Six by Nico' sites in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast, and we couldn't be more delighted about bringing a completely new offering and dining experience to the [city].”

Born in Glasgow to Italian parents, Simeone, who previously cooked at the Michelin-starred Number One at Balmoral, launched his debut restaurant 111 by Nico in Glasgow in 2011.
