Street food chicken brand Orange Buffalo is to open its first bricks and mortar restaurant next month in Tooting.

Serving ‘the hottest wings in town’, Orange Buffalo began life as a food truck in Shoreditch’s Truman Brewery back in 2012, with a second location later opening in Hoxton Square.

Positioned next to Tooting’s Tram Social, Orange Buffalo’s first permanent site will feature an expanded menu of burgers and wings, which can be served with house-made sauces that include The Original, made with Dutch chillies; Woof Woof, made with scotch bonnets, Dutch chillies and naga; and K-Town, which consists of gochujang paste, soy, honey and sesame seeds.

Adventurous diners are encouraged to try Orange Buffalo’s Snake in a Basket wing roulette dish. This features seven Original or Woof Woof wings with one hidden Viper Wing, which has a 1m+ scoville rating and comes with a disclaimer that customers must sign on ordering.

Orange Buffalo was founded by Mike So and Nick White, who wanted to bring a flavour of the US back to the UK following a road trip. Since opening in Brick Lane the brand has won a number of awards, including the Double Award at London’s first Wingfest in 2013, and the Best Loved Restaurant in the 2016 Time Out Love London Awards.
