The 37,500 sq ft West End site, which will be housed in the former BHS building near Oxford Circus, was first announced by Market Halls CEO Andy Lewis Pratt and COO Simon Anderson back in early 2018.
There are currently two other Market Halls locations in London, one in Fulham and another opposite Victoria Station.
“The impact we’ve created with Fulham and Victoria will be continued with one of the most ambitious projects of this type ever taken on in the UK,” says Anderson.
“We intend for Market Hall West End to set a new benchmark for this burgeoning sector, providing an alternative option to help reinvigorate our troubled British high street.”
Spread over three floors with seating for 800 covers, Market Halls West End will contain 12 independent kitchens and four bars. There will also be a terrace with a retractable roof.
“Market Hall West End will bring together the best of London’s wonderful and diverse food scene all under one roof,” adds Anderson.
“Our twelve kitchens will have something for everyone, with a roster made up from the most popular traders at Fulham and Victoria and some exciting new concepts.”
Last year, the team told BigHospitality’s sister publication MCA that they plan to launch a regional Market Halls soon with an eye to opening 10-12 Market Halls in total.
