Italian Alley is described as ‘a new dining concept showcasing five different Italian eateries’, with each arch representing ‘a different region or hero ingredient’ of the country.
Diners are encouraged to mix dishes from the different stations available, which include Italian BBQ Brace, serving marinated pork skewers and baked aubergine with garlic and parsley; Focacceria Nazionale, which offers sliced focaccia with a choice of toppings including mozzarella, salami and ricotta; Ciambotta Banquet in a Bun has Italian bread bowls filled with caponatas and stew options; Polpetta focus is on different kinds of meatballs that have been slow cooked in tomatoes; and Semola specialises in pasta and gnocchi dishes.
“Italian Alley is a one-stop destination for dedicated Italian culture and cuisine,” says Maggie Milosavljevic, Camden’s Market’s food and beverage commercial director.
“The concept reflects our passion for international foods and also reflects how we can tie these in with the rich culture rooted within the spirit of Camden. Each of the arches come together to create a synergy and promote the sharing quality of a traditional Italian family lunch.”
The opening of Italian Alley follows the news that LabTech is in the process of building Hawley Wharf Camden, a huge 580,000 sq ft space that is due to launch this summer and will house 60 restaurants.
