We round-up some of the top hospitality stories you might have missed this week

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, the London restaurant opened by the eponymous late French chef in 2006, is to close its Covent Garden site on 14 April with unconfirmed reports that it is to be ‘reborn’ as Comptoir Joël Robuchon on Clarges Street in Mayfair later this year.

The Restaurant Group (TRG) has confirmed it has put a further 22 sites on the market through Savills, bringing the total number of sites it has up for sale to 44. TRG operates brands including Chiquito’s, Garfunkel’s and Frankie & Benny’s.

Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck restaurant saw a fall in profits last year, with filings for the three-Michelin-starred Bray site showing that pre-tax profits dropped from £533,145 to £297,788 for the 12 months to 27 May 2018.

Tommy Heaney is to open his second restaurant in Cardiff this month. It will be located right next door to his first restaurant, which opened in the Pontcanna area of the Welsh capital in October​​ last year.

Brighton’s Silo restaurant, run by zero-waste chef Douglas McMaster, is on track to relocate to London after a crowdfunding campaign towards its planned new home hit its £500,000 target. Silo will close its Brighton site later this year, and has partnered with Crate Brewery to open in its Hackney Wick taproom.
