Restaurateur Julie Lewis is to open a second restaurant adjacent to her first venture, in St Andrews in Scotland.

Called – fittingly - Next Door, the 35-cover breakfast, brunch and lunch venue will be located beside The Adamson, the restaurant and cocktail bar she opened in the Fife town in 2012. It will occupy the space on South Street that was formerly Burger restaurant.

The restaurant will serve nutritious food ‘aimed at those pursuing a healthy lifestyle (most of the time)’, according to Lewis. Millennials are the restaurant’s target customer with Next Door not only promising to offer plenty of plant-based dishes but food that is as ‘nutritious as it is Instagrammable’.

Described as a ‘go-healthy’ restaurant, it will feature a bar area serving a range of green and herbal teas, as well as coffee.

Next Door is due to open in March.

“I’ve always wanted to open another restaurant in St Andrews, and have been looking for a location for the last five years, so I jumped at the chance to snap up the former Burger site next door to The Adamson,” says Lewis.

The Adamson won ‘Best Restaurant of the Year’ in 2016 and ‘Best Cocktail Bar’ in 2018 at the Scottish Licenced Trade News Awards.
