The Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group has opened its first university deli, in Scotland, as part of its deal with contract caterer Aramark.

A Jamie’s Deli has launched at Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University (RGU), serving a breakfast, lunch and snack menu ranging from porridge to homemade pizza.

It is the second site to open under the partnership between Oliver’s group and Aramark, which agreed a 10-year deal to take the chef’s brands in to contract catering in the UK and Northern Europe last year.

The first Jamie’s Deli under the partnership opened at the offices of J.P Morgan in Dublin in December.

“I’m looking forward to growing with Aramark Northern Europe and continuing to give busy people a helping hand to eat well in the workplace or at uni,” says Oliver.

Speaking to BigHospitality last year Jon Knight, CEO of Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, said the group was targeting ‘aggressive’ expansion with Aramark and hoped the number of sites under the deal could reach double figures in two years.
