The Swedish-inspired brand has taken on the former Vital Ingredient site on Berwick Street for its debut in the capital.
The 1,800 sq ft café will offer sit-in brunch, takeaway breakfast and lunch alongside Swedish coffee, ‘Scandi-inspired’ cocktails, natural wines and craft beer.
Menu items will range from open sandwiches to kardemummabulle (cardamom buns) and kladdkaka (chocolate cake).
Söderberg was founded in Edinburgh in 2007 and now has its own bakery, three cafes and three bakery shops in the city.
Its London launch follows the success of Danish bakery group Ole & Steen in the capital. The company, which has over 75 sites under the Lagkagehuset brand in Denmark, has opened nine London cafes and one in Oxford since it made its UK debut in 2016.
