The company, which received £16m funding from Santander last year, is to launch a £1.4m site in Embassy Gardens – part of the redevelopment of the Nine Elms area around the new US Embassy.
The 5,200 sq ft site will feature 105 restaurant covers, with space for a further 78 outside.
Founded in Manchester in 2010, The 14-strong Alchemist group has so-far opened London sites in Bevis Marks and St Martin’s Lane. A bar and restaurant in Old Street is expected to launch in April.
The company, which has locations in major cities including Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, says further openings will be announced in the coming months.
“We are fully committed to ongoing investment in the capital…we have a talented operations support team based in the city and very much see opportunity to continue the brand evolution in London,” says Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist.
The Alchemist was founded in Manchester in 2010. Formerly part of the Living Ventures stable, it was bought out by Palatine Private Equity in 2015.
Last year it launched a new cocktail bar concept, Aether, which BigHospitality's sister site MCA reports could become a second roll-out vehicle for the business.
