The chef launched the project alongside Sharp’s Brewery in 2014. The pub serves meat and fish cooked over coals, as well as over 40 beers.
But in a post on Instagram today (8 January) Outlaw confirmed he was ceasing his involvement with the pub at the end of January.
He wrote: “After 5 successful years, I’ve decided to step down from my partnership with @sharpsbrewery @themarinersrock. It has been a huge decision for me personally as I am extremely proud of what the team has achieved and I’ve enjoyed being part of the growth of such a lovely bunch of people. @zack_hawke and his team have only ever got stronger and better in the kitchen, which I thank them for. Good luck for the future and I look forward to coming back for a Sunday roast and a pint.”
The decision means Outlaw will have no remaining sites in Rock. The chef ran his debut restaurant, The Black Pig, in the fishing village from 2003-06.
Two Michelin-starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw also started out at Rock's St Enodoc hotel, before relocating to Port Isaac in 2015.
2018 looks to be a busy year for Outlaw, who will end his seven-year restaurant partnership with London’s The Capital hotel in March ahead of opening a brasserie-style restaurant at The Goring Hotel in Belgravia later this spring.
