- Chef Stevie Parle has announced his London restaurant Rotorino will close at the end of the year. The chef, who opened the site in Dalston in 2014, said the move would allow him to devote more time to his four other London restaurants.
- The Duck and Rice, the Soho-based 'Chinese gastropub' founded by Alan Yau in 2015, is looking for partners to expand across the capital and globally under license. The company, now under new management, believes there are growth opportunities for the brand across London as well as in Europe and the Middle East.
- Duck & Waffle executive chef Tom Cenci has stepped down from his role after six years at the restaurant. Cenci, who was part of the site's opening team in 2012, says he is planning to take some time off before announcing his next move. Daniel Barbosa has now taken over as executive chef.
- Time Out Group has signed a lease agreement to open a Time Out Market in London's Waterloo in 2021. The launch is conditional on obtaining licensing approval, but the planned 32,500 sq ft site will be split over two floors with around 500 seats. It will feature food offerings from 17 chefs and restaurateurs, as well as three bars and a space for 'cultural experiences'.
