Chef Stevie Parle to close Rotorino
The chef opened the Italian restaurant in Dalston in 2014 with the backing of Street Feast founder Jonathan Downey. It was recommended in the Michelin guide, though does not hold a star.
Writing on Twitter, Parle said the closure would allow him to devote more time to his other restaurants - Greenwich’s Craft London, Palatino in Clerkenwell, and Pastaio in Soho and Canary Wharf. He is also a partner in Sardine in Islington, which is headed up by former Rotorino chef Alex Jackson.
Parle wrote: “I’ve been running Rotorino now for five years and we’ve had a lot of fun, but it’s time to call it a day so I can really focus on my other projects. I’m hugely grateful to the amazing team (who will all, I hope, continue to work for me) and to JD, Rick and Liam for helping to make it happen in the first place.
“A special thanks to our amazing guests who have made the last five years such a joy and I wish the new occupants every success with the site.
“We’ve got a late license for the last few weekends so we’ll be open till the early hours. So come and have your final Sicilian 65 and plate of sausage pasta, hope to see you there this year, or in one of our other places next year.”
Parle previously ran Dock Kitchen in Ladbroke Grove, but it closed in December 2017 after eight years as its lease came to an end.
