Vita Mojo, the restaurant which lets diners design their own meals, has raised £10m funding to expand.

The group's technology allows customers to calorie-count by choosing the exact quantities of ingredients and allergens in each dish, using in-store tablets or online for delivery

Now it has received backing from Investec Bank and a ‘high net-worth family office’ to recruit senior talent ahead of plans to take its concept worldwide.

Vita Mojo has three quick service restaurants in central London, the first of which launched in 2016, which it uses to develop its technology.

The company says it is coming out of ‘stealth’ mode to encourage other restaurant operators to make use of its software, which is already used by Chilango and Wokit.

"Rising food costs, increasing business rates, Brexit looming and the shortage of labour has created significant challenges for restaurants which many are looking to counteract,” says Nick Popovici, Vita Mojo co-founder and CEO.

“We know great technology can be transformational, having tested and iterated with our own restaurants for the last four years. With the support of our new investors, we look forward to continuing to service our clients and empowering them to be successful."

Vita Mojo also raised more than £3.2m through a crowdfunding campaign last year, which valued the business at £20m.
