A former Noma and Gordon Ramsay Group chef will launch a Mayfair restaurant serving dishes inspired by now-closed King’s Road institution Pucci Pizza.

Tilly Turbett will launch Pucci Mayfair on Maddox Street next month, with Rufus Albanese – son of the former owner of Pucci Pizza – who will oversee the front of house operation.

The restaurant will serve pizzas that use the same recipe Pucci Albanese used at his restaurant. The “Pucci” pizza will be topped with tomato, buffalo mozzarella, parma ham, rocket and parmesan.

Alongside pizzas inspired by the King’s Road restaurant, Pucci Mayfair will serve a selection of small, Mediterranean-inspired plates to share including glazed Barbary duck breast with pomegranate molasses and sweet potato; sticky pumpkin with honey, sesame, goad curd and Aleppo pepper; harissa-charred cauliflower with green tahini and pomegranate; grilled radicchio with parmesan and bottarga; sea bass crudo with chilli, melon and lime oil; and Baklava millefeuille served with honey cream, pistachio and rose.

Décor will be inspired by Italian bistros and New York lofts, with exposed brick, suspended greenery and an outdoor terrace.

Aside from Turbett’s culinary credentials, the restaurant will have a seasoned chef at front of house as well, as Albanese has worked in the industry for a number of years, and set up his own pizza restaurant – also now closed – in Cale Street which was also inspired by Pucci Pizza.
