Bob Bob Cité, the follow up to Soho restaurant Bob Bob Ricard, will finally open in March next year, 14 months after originally planned.

The restaurant, originally due to open in January this year, will be located in the landmark Leadenhall Building, informally known as the Cheesegrater. It will accommodate 190 covers across two dining rooms and have three private dining suites, complete with a reception room and dining room, each of which seat 18 diners.

Its opening date is set for 25 March.

The food will be overseen by chef Eric Chavot, whose menu will major on classic French country-style dishes. Speaking to BigHospitality back in 2017, Chavot said the menu had already been finalised and would feature dishes such as garlic snails, daube de boeuf provencale, blanquette de veau and crème brulee.

The restaurant will once again feature the ‘press for champagne buttons’ of its Soho site. Champagne will be offered in magnums, jeroboams and methuselahs at no premium to standard bottles.

Bob Bob Cité will also have one of the largest selections of armagnac, with more than 100 vintages, starting with 1888, and a collection of Chateau d’Yquem going back to 1866.

“Good things come to those who wait,” says Bob Bob Cité owner Leonid Shutov. “I am delighted that we will be opening Bob Bob Cité a mere fourteen months later than we had intended to. Bob Bob Ricard was two years late when we built it, so I feel this is already a big improvement.”
