Wine merchant Grays & Feather will launch a bricks-and-mortar sparkling wine bar at a Covent Garden site next month.

The restaurant, which was originally intended to open in September but faced construction-related delays, will serve a menu of small plates alongside a list of unusual wines from small winemakers across the world.

Set to launch on 6 November in Wellington Street, the restaurant will be the first bricks-and-mortar site for the company, which operates a stall in the Southbank Market as well as an online shop.

Dishes include a selection of small to medium sized plates, as well as a list of sharing platters and boards.

Small dishes include the likes of beetroot hummus with endive and celery; miso cured aubergine with anise and habanero salsa; burrata dipped in Chardonnay with dandelion leaves, pine nuts and sultanas; smoked salmon with mirin, caramelised shallots and ginger; and beef tartare.

Larger dishes comprise a croque monsieur made with devilled ham and three cheeses; duck and sausage cassoulet; nduja and crab roll; and fondue with crudités and bread.

Diners can choose boards and platters from a list including a meaty ‘farm’ board; a cheese board; a seafood ‘ocean’ board’; a vegetarian ‘forest’ board with tofu, artichoke hearts and confit carrots; and a ‘flight’ board featuring a selection of items from all of the platters.

Founded by wine expert Andrew Gray in 2011, Grays & Feather started out running street market stalls and pop ups. It has since amassed a number of accolades, including being shortlisted for Specialist Merchant of the Year and Sparking & Champagne Innovator of the Year at the International Wine Challenge.
