MasterChef winner Ping Coombes has launched a restaurant at Selfridge’s in collaboration with Malaysian brand PappaRich.

Ping Pan Asian is a concept exclusive to PappaRich, and launched last week on the fourth floor of Selfridge’s in central London, alongside the likes of Chop’d; The Creperie; Masala Express; and Yo! Sushi.

Coombes has also launched a grab-and-go pan-Asian delicatessen in the department store’s ground-floor food hall in London, and at its Manchester store in the Trafford Centre.

The menu at Coombes’ fourth floor restaurant serves a selection of Malaysian dishes such as nasi lemak; nasi goring; roti canai; Hainanese chicken rice; seafood and vegetarian laksa; and a variety of dim sum.

The offer at the delicatessen counters is tailored to the grab-and-go market, and includes the likes of prawn or duck spring rolls; Thai fishcakes; chicken satay; dim sum; and beef siu mai. A selection of bubble teas are also available.

“I’m delighted to be collaborating with Selfridges on Ping Pan-Asian, we’ve worked closely together to perfect the menu and they really share my passion and enthusiasm for fresh ingredients and delicious flavours,” says Coombes.

“I’m excited to be open and welcome guests to enjoy our fresh and incredibly tasty food.”

Coombes won MasterChef in 2014, and is executive chef of Chi Kitchen, a pan-Asian restaurant housed within Debenhams.

She has worked as a global Malaysia kitchen ambassador around the world, and published a cookbook, Malaysia, with Orion.
