Friday Five: the week's top news
- Street food market curator Kerb will end its tenancy at Camden market after two years at the end of the month to move on to "new projects". It is unclear if all the traders will be leaving with Kerb, although Club Mexicana is the first vendor to confirm it will be vacating its pitch.
- Restaurant group Corbin & King has launched an initiative to double the number of staff it employs aged over 50. Co-founder Jeremy King says he hopes the move will create a better and more diverse workforce.
- A person who posted fake online reviews on TripAdvisor has been jailed for nine months in one of the first convictions of its kind. An Italian court also ordered the owner of PromoSalento, which sold falsified reviews to hotels, to pay €8,000 in what TripAdvisor hailed as a "landmark case".
- Chef Angela Hartnett has spoken about the future of her restaurant group as Mayfair's Murano celebrates 10 years in business. She told BigHospitality she would like to open more Cafe Murano sites, and potentially hand 50% of the flagship Murano over to a head chef and team in future.
- Street Feast's Hawker Union site in London's Wood Green is to close after just three months this weekend following an ongoing dispute with the local council. Founder Jonathan Downey says the site was "not worth the hassle", despite investing £450,000 in the opening.
