Launching in mid-October, Art Yard will serve a restaurant and a bar menu created by Lee Streeton, whose previous role was as head chef at 45 Jermyn Street.
Daily dishes will include the likes of chargrilled cuttlefish with black rice and chorizo; baked bone marrow with curry sauce; cataplana of monkfish, shellfish, saffron and potato. Sharing cuts of roasted meats will be available on weekends, to be served family-style.
Breakfast dishes will include buckwheat tabbouleh with tahini yoghurt and a poached egg; waffles with autumn fruit compote and crème fraiche; and full English breakfasts.
A bar menu will include smaller plates such as anchovies with sage and lemon; and spicy lamb, aubergine and egg pide.
Accompanying drinks will include beers from local breweries; wines from local suppliers; and on-tap cocktails including a nitro cold brew martini.
“We’re really looking forward to introducing Londoners to Art Yard this October and showcasing what we’ve been working hard to perfect over the past few months,” says Head Chef Lee Streeton.
“We’ve been busy sourcing ingredients, speaking to producers and creating a menu that we hope suits the location and builds on the current offering, and we’re excited to finally bring this to Bankside.”
The restaurant’s name relates to its art-focused interiors, designed by Los Angeles’ Powerstrip Studio designer Dayna Lee. The 80-cover restaurant will showcase commissioned artworks from UK and local designers, and the 20-cover dining room will feature a mural made by London illustrator Laura Carlin.
