Sushi and yakitori restaurant group Sticks’n’Sushi will launch its largest restaurant yet at a site in Chelsea next month.

Located on the Kings Road, the three-storey, 220-cover restaurant will be the eighth UK opening for the group, and its sixth in London. It will launch on 1 October.

It will serve the restaurant’s signature sushi and yakitori from its photo album-style menu. Dishes include the likes of beef tataki; broccoli with goma shiro; miso soup; chicken wings with lemon; and Jerusalem artichoke with tofu aioli.

The new site will include a 26-cover private dining room in the basement, which is accessed via a dedicated lift, will have its own kitchen, cocktail bar and team to provide bespoke menus for guests.

Designed by Copenhagen architecture company NORM, the restaurant’s 90-cover ground floor will be have a central kitchen island and bar, with an open kitchen. Upstairs, guests will have the option of counter or banquette seating will be available.

Each floor will have its own styles of colour, texture and lighting.

Sticks’n’Sushi was founded in Copenhagen by half-Danish, half-Japanese brothers Kens and Kim Rahbek. It operates twelve restaurants in Copenhagen, one in Berlin, and is considered to be one of Denmark’s most successful restaurant groups.

The Chelsea opening will take its presence in the UK up to eight restaurants with plans for a ninth in Soho already in the pipeline.
