The founder of cocktail consultancy company Talented Mr Fox, Matt Whiley, will relocate his award-winning cocktail bar to a larger, double-concept Hackney site next month.

Whiley, who is behind the cocktail menus at restaurants including Simon Rogan’s Fera, Tom Sellers’ Story, and Adam Handling’s London restaurants, is making the move having found a larger site.

Scout closed its Shoreditch location on 25 August, and will reopen at 224 Graham Road on 11 September.

The new 40-cover site will have a kitchen proper, allowing Whiley to expand the bar food offering. A former pastry chef from Helene Darroze at The Connaught will be joining the team to help make the food “more of a focus”.

“Great Eastern Street has been great for Scout, and it will always be a part of the bar’s story,” says Whiley.

“However the re-location to Hackney allows us to enhance and better our offering even more with a larger space and a fully equipped kitchen.”

The aesthetic of the bar will remain the same, and 12 of the menu’s existing cocktails  will be carried over to the new site, alongside some of its ferments.

The basement at the new bar will see the launch of Whiley’s kegged cocktail company Gold Tooth.

Currently ranked at number 81 in the World’s 50 Best Bars, Scout launched on City Road in Shoreditch in April 2017.
