October will see TLG open Thaikhun Street Bar, a new concept for the group, in the site neighbouring its Chayophraya restaurant in the shopping and leisure centre.
The bar, the little sister of the Thaikhun chain of restaurants already operated by TLG, will overlook Chavasse Park.
It will serve a list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails and a condensed version of the menu offered at its restaurants proper. Dishes will include Thai bar snacks such as pad Thai and chicken satay.
Décor will be inspired by traditional Thai street scenes, including authentic ornaments and a tuk-tuk imported from Thailand.
“As the first project of its kind, the brand-new bar concept is very exciting for us all. Offering unique Thai experiences is something we’re hugely passionate about and with this fantastic offer, I have no doubt it will succeed,” says Kim Kaewkraikhot, founder of Thai Leisure Group.
“Liverpool ONE’s wide range of bars and dining experiences is one of the most comprehensive and compelling in the UK, which made it an easy decision for us to open our very first Thaikhun Street Bar in Liverpool. It demonstrates our continued commitment to be at the forefront of the hospitality sector.”
Thaikun Street Bar will be the group’s fifth concept, sitting in its portfolio alongside Thai banquet brand ChaoBaby; contemporary Thai restaurant Chaophraya; wok-fried and grilled Asian dish restaurant Yee Rah; and casual street food brand Thaikun.
TLG operates 18 Thai restaurants across the north of England and Scotland at sites in Birmingham; Edinburgh; Glasgow; Leeds; Liverpool; Manchester; Newcastle; and Aberdeen.
The £1bn Liverpool One development has seen the number of restaurants in the area rapidly increase since its launch in 2008. Favourites in the area, such as family-owned Catalunyan bar and deli, have chosen the development to move into as they expand.
