Pide Oven to double up with Hammersmith opening
The new site, previously expected to open in July, is nearing the end of its build stage at a site on Fulham Palace Road.
Founded by Ersen Salih in 2016, Pide Oven currently operates a single site in Charlotte Street, serving Turkish pizza alongside a selection of small plates and side dishes.
The restaurant’s pizza-style pides can be ordered with a variety of toppings including lamb, peppers and cheese; roasted vegetables; chicken, halloumi and honey; goats cheese and herbs; beef sausage with peppers; and rump steak with red onion.
Side orders include lamb, chicken and falafel koftes; halloumi; chicken wings tossed in lemon and sea salt; and potato wedges baked with za’atar.
A selection of traditional salads includes chickpea piyaz; sarma cabbage salad; onion salad; and tomato, Turkish pepper, onion and parsley salad.
Pictures posted on Pide Oven’s Instagram page show the partly-built site, which looks to have traditional Turkish-inspired tiled flooring and a large, traditional pide oven.
Pide and lahmacun have proven popular in the capital, with several high-end restaurants having opened over the past two years serving the dish, including Alan Yau’s Yamabahce in Marylebone, and Ruya in Mayfair.
