Former Pachamama head chef Adam Rawson will head up the kitchen at The Standard Hotel’s first international iteration.

Set to open in Kings Cross in early 2019, the ground floor restaurant will be the result of collaboration between Rawson and Angela Dimayuga, creative director of food and culture for the Standard group’s US operations.

As the group - which currently operates sites in New York; Miami Beach; Downtown LA; East Village; and Hollywood - has no presence in the UK at the moment, Rawson has been training under Dimayuga’s New York team since June, creating a pop-up burger menu to be served through August at the group’s East Village site.

“Cooking for a group like The Standard is ideal for me,” says Rawson.

“To be able to push boundaries with my food and to have the support of an inspirational team is a dream for any chef and I hope this restaurant will have a big, positive impact when we open next year”.

The Standard, London, will be the first international property for the US-based group, has a schedule of additional openings in the pipeline at sites across the US, Europe and Asia. It is expected to open in the building currently under construction opposite the iconic St. Pancras train station in the Kings Cross area.

Rawson has worked under Gordon Ramsay, Nuno Mendes and Claude Bosi before heading up the kitchens at Pachamama.
