Tom Kitchin to launch Southside Scran this autumn
Originally set for a summer launch, the restaurant will open in the Bruntsfield area of the city, and will serve a seasonal menu of rotisserie-focused dishes alongside a daily seafood selection.
Scottish produce will be the focus of the menu, following the ‘nature to plate’ ethos employed at the restaurateur’s other sites.
The Kitchin Group’s head sommelier, Joel Bastian, will curate the wine menu, and a seasonal cocktail list will be available.
Interior design at the open plan, street-facing site, overseen by Michaela Kitchin and Stephen Paterson of Burn’s Design, will feature rustic wood flooring, dark green and rust coloured tones, and banquette seating inspired by traditional French bistros.
“Over the years we have often been asked when we're going to open a restaurant in the south side of Edinburgh,” says Kitchin.
“Bruntsfield is very charming and it just felt like the right place for us to create a neighbourhood restaurant where people can enjoy a meal with their family and friends. The open rotisserie has long been a dream of ours and we can't wait to showcase new dishes and ways of cooking with Scotland's incredible produce”
The restaurant will be the fourth in The Kitchin Group, which also operates the Michelin-starred Kitchin in Leith, Castle Terrace in Edinburgh’s city centre, and the Scran and Scallie in Stockbridge, which holds a Bib Gourmand.
