Blixen and Lorne owner Clive Watson is to open a restaurant at The Dixon, an upcoming boutique hotel in London’s Tower Bridge area.

Provisioners will take its design cues from its SE1 post code, referencing the area’s cultural heritage. Designed by twenty2degrees, the interior is inspired by “modern design movements, artists’ homes and European cafe culture.”

The chef and full menu details are yet to be confirmed, but the restaurant will serve a “varied and accessible” European all-day menu of uncomplicated comfort food.

There will also be an adjoining Italy-inspired cafe serving house-roasted coffee, cakes and toasted sandwiches by day and wine, aperitivo and charcuterie in the evening.

“Provisioners will be a place where you have everything you need to help you relax, unwind and refuel, whatever your mood,” says Watson. “We’d like to be a bustling hotel and neighbourhood restaurant offering intuitive and natural hospitality tailored to each guest’s needs - we are all different after all; I hope you’ll want to eat, drink and hang out here all the time.”

Watson ran Village East and The Garrison with Adam White before striking out on his own to launch Blixen - an all day restaurant in Spitalfields market - and Lorne in Victoria, which he co-owns with sommelier Kaite Exton and chef Peter Hall.
