Instagram is integrating with restaurant reservation platform Quandoo to allow its users to book restaurants through the photo sharing app.

Instagram users in all countries in which Quandoo is active are now able to tap a ‘reserve’ button on a restaurant’s Instagram profile to instantly book a table through the restaurant reservation platform.

The feature will allow diners to include special requests when booking so that the restaurant can prepare for events such as birthdays and anniversaries.

In order for a restaurant to enable the feature on its Instagram account, it must have a business profile on Instagram, and must have activated the Quandoo function in the account settings.

“We look forward to driving even more value for our restaurant partners with this integration”, says Pierpaolo Zollo, vice president of business development at Quandoo.

“Thanks to this partnership, Instagram users will have an easier way to reserve a table at their favourite restaurant in less than a minute, no matter where they are; whilst restaurants will be able to take advantage of these new features, making Instagram another place to do business”.

Instagram recently introduced ‘shoppable’ posts, allowing brands and businesses to tag products in posts which consumers can tap to find out more information and make a purchase.

By introducing these new features and integrations, the app says it is aiming to create a “seamless experience” for users.

One of the fastest-growing global real-time reservation platforms, Quandoo currently operates in 12 countries across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

It is the reservations arm of tech giant Recruit, which also owns Hot Pepper, Japan’s leading dining service which offers 46,000 instantly bookable restaurants.
