Trendy vegan restaurant Erpingham House is to launch a Soho House-style members’ club on the third floor of its Norwich site.

The restaurant, which launched in April, will open the members’ club in autumn.

Founded by vegan influencer Loui Blake, Erpingham House is one of the UK’s largest vegan restaurants, comprising 3000sq feet, a third of which will be dedicated to the members’ club.

The restaurant is designed to make vegan cuisine approachable to non-vegans, and Blake is clear that the club will be open to all.

“Most vegan establishments are a lot smaller than this,” says a spokesperson for the restaurant.

“There has been huge growth in the plant-based market, and people want to see a more high-end, Soho House approach. That’s why we have taken the gamble with such a large space.”

The Grade II listed building, which was, ironically, a former steakhouse, is located near Norwich Cathedral.

It currently serves an all-day and breakfast menu, created by head chef Dan Jobey, on two of its three storeys.

The ground floor café serves smoothie bowls; granola; avocado on toast; and savoury breakfast bowls, which can be eaten in or taken away.

On the first floor, the restaurant serves a menu of more substantial dishes, such as avocado pesto linguine; lahmacun pizza with spiced minced seitan and garlic yoghurt; cashew jackfruit korma; and macaroni ‘cheese’ made with cashew cream.

Drinks include a list of cocktails; CBD (cannabis oil) infused coffees; and rose lattes.

On Sundays, a vegan roast menu is available, and Sunday brunches hosted by Veuve Cliquot are also a regular occurrence.
