BigHospitality's sister site MCA reports that the brand is named after a dish from the core Las Iguanas menu – a half or whole chicken with fiery sauce and bagged up fries.
The menu also offers chicken wing combos and Bird of Burger Bundles for Two, as well as a small range of sides and a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream as the sole dessert option.
The brand is available across the country through both Deliveroo and UberEats, and is set to be listed on the Just Eat portal soon.
CDG has already launched a delivery-only model in its Café Rouge estate – with the croque monsieurs and burgers-focused Stack & Grill.
Las Iguanas managing director Mos Shamel said: “While it’s very early days for Blazing Bird, we’re excited by what we think is a significant opportunity, and the initial consumer reaction has been very positive.”
Earlier this year, The Restaurant Group launched its debut virtual brand – Burger, Burger – at the Joe’s Kitchen under its head office in Marshalsea Road, Borough, and has since rolled it out across the country.
In April, Deliveroo said it had 51 ‘virtual brands’ live on its platform.
