BBC's Million Pound Menu to return for second series
Production company Electric Ray is on the hunt for new candidates for the Fred Sirieix fronted programme, which recently ended its six-episode run.
The programme sees would-be restaurateurs attempt to secure major investments from a number of high-profile industry players to launch their restaurants. Investors in the first series included chef and entrepreneur Atul Kochhar, White Rabbit Fund founder Chris Miller, MEATliquor co-founder Scott Collins, Living Ventures CEO Jeremy Roberts, and Fulham Shore chairman David Page.
Applicants are now being sought for series two, with the closing date set for Friday 17 August. To apply, applicants are required to fill out an online form here.
Beneficiaries of the first series included chef Ruth Hansom and sommelier Emily Lambert, whose forthcoming debut restaurant Epoch was backed by Atul Kochhar, and chef Jay Morjaria, who secured £500,000 of investment from the Rocco Forte Hotel Group.
The programme says it is once again looking for chefs, supperclub hosts, caterers and streetfood vendors as potential candidates for the second series.
"If you have a brilliant food concept, and if you want to prove that you have what it takes to launch a successful business, whether it is a restaurant, café, grab & go or something completely new, please fill out the application form in as much detail as possible," it says.
