Tom Kerridge reveals details of first London restaurant
Originally announced in February, Kerridge’s Bar & Grill will open at the five-star Corinthia Hotel London in September.
Nick Beardshaw, head chef at Kerridge’s The Coach – which won a Michelin star last year – will be moving to head up the kitchen, serving a menu inspired by the Marlow gastropub.
The high-ceilinged 90-cover dining room will see large joints of meat, fish and root vegetables roasted on a rotisserie bar in front of diners.
Some of the walls are set to house display fridges full of hanging meat supplied by Kerridge’s butchers, The Butcher’s Tap in Marlow.
A separate bar area will be partitioned off by antique mirror panels, offering a menu of “diverse and interesting” bar snacks alongside English wines, champagnes, ales and lagers on tap – all displayed in a glass cellar.
There will also be an 18-cover “grand panelled” private dining room, where chefs will prepare food in front of guests.
It will be the first site in the capital for Kerridge, whose plans to open a restaurant at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in Knightsbridge fell through in late 2017.
“Work has begun on the design and the space and Nick and I, along with the whole team, are enjoying creating a menu that will befit such a stunning room,” says Kerridge.
The restaurant will occupy the space of the former Massimo dining room on the ground floor of the hotel, with a separate entrance off Northumberland Avenue.
“Every day I work with Tom Kerridge and his team, and Simon Rawlings from David Collins Studio, the anticipation builds of what I know will be a fantastic opening and a wonderful new addition to London’s restaurant scene,” says Thomas Kochs, managing director at Corinthia Hotel London.
“I look forward to September when we can finally welcome guests to this new dining experience.”
