Cult Taiwanese tea brand makes double debut

Cult Taiwanese tea brand YiFang is launching its first two permanent UK sites in central London this summer.

The group opened its debut permanent location earlier this month in Shaftesbury Avenue, coming off the back of its well-received pop up in Old Spitalfields Market.

Its second restaurant will open at 13 Moor Street in Soho, and will be slightly bigger than the Shaftesbury kiosk, which comprises just 100sq ft.

YiFang has opened over 600 stores across the globe since its inception in 2016.

The group makes all-natural teas, inspired by recipes from the founder’s grandmother, the namesake of the brand.

The tea itself is harvested from the group’s own mountain plantations, all sugar used is from fresh sugarcane, and any fruit that is not sourced from the group’s farms comes from New Spitalfields Market.

Property agency Shelley Sandzer acted on behalf of YiFang on the deals for the two sites. The same agency has also been involved with the UK launches of other well-loved East Asian brands, including Old Chang Kee and Duddell’s.

“We are excited to open our first permanent location in the UK and look forward to opening the second site shortly,” says Pokai Wang of YiFang.

“We’ve been given exceptional assistance and guidance from Shelley Sandzer and look forward to working with them as we introduce the Taiwanese tradition of drinking tea and the culture of our country to the UK.”
