Northcote Group sells four Ribble Valley Inns sites

The Northcote Group has sold its Ribble Valley Inns portfolio to Brunning & Price, the pub division of The Restaurant Group, for an undisclosed sum.

The sale includes The Three Fishes in Mitton, The Highwayman at Kirkby Lonsdale, The Clog & Billycock in Pleasington and The Bull at Broughton, which join Brunning & Price’s 62-strong pub portfolio.

The Nag’s Head pub in Cheshire was not included in the sale, despite being put on the market by Northcote for around £1m earlier this year.

The 150-cover site opened in 2014 after a £1m refurbishment and received a positive review from Jay Rayner in The Observer, but appears to have closed this year after it stopped serving food.

Ribble Valley Inns was founded in 2004 by Northcote, which also owns the Michelin-starred Lancashire restaurant and hotel of the same name.

“Brunning & Price are a superbly run pub operation who invest in their people and their sites, building community food led pubs…we wish them a great deal of success,” says Craig Bancroft, managing director at Northcote.

“We will now turn our focus to developing Northcote further to continue to lead the North West in Hospitality.”

Property firm Christie & Co advised on the sale.
